Setup & Logistics
- Book a large suite with separate bedroom and living areas, to ensure ample space for your bridal party and your artists’ work station setup.
- Request large regular-height tables near outlets & natural light — one per artist.
- Chairs: Regular low/office chair for hairstylists, bar-height stool for makeup artists.
- Let hotel front desk know to give elevator key card access to your beauty team.
- Night before: Text/email your hotel room number & parking/valet details.
Months Leading Up to Wedding Day
- Daily: Exfoliate & moisturize—makeup looks best on smooth skin.
- Stay out of the sun! No foundation can fix a red sunburnt chest.
- Bride: If trying Dermaplaning & Hydrafacial, do a test run months before, then repeat at least 1 week before the wedding.
- Stop using tretinoin, retinol & actives 1 week before—focus on hydration instead.
A Few Days Before
- Groom brows & remove blackheads, peach fuzz, and facial hair.
- Pack a touch-up bag: Lipstick, pressed powder, tissues, straws, safety pins etc.
- Bridal party: Save inspo photos from @windycityglam that match your hair color, skin tone & features.
- Bride: If using clip-in extensions, wash & dry them before the first use and between each styling.
The Night Before
- Double shampoo & wash hair—no oils or leave-ins. Blow dry before bed.
- Do NOT sleep on damp hair.
- For extra volume, apply mousse to damp hair before blow drying.
On the Wedding Day
- Face: Exfoliated, moisturized, and makeup-free. No SPF.
- Hair: Completely dry, squeaky clean. Damp or greasy hair won’t style well.
- Contacts: Put them in before makeup. No brushing teeth after makeup.
- Clothing: Wear a button-up shirt or robe—so hair stays perfect when changing.
- Steam dresses BEFORE hair & makeup. Steam = frizzy hair & melting makeup.
